Hi, I'm Heather.  I have over 25 years experience in business and financial leadership roles, most recently holding the position of Program Director at Seaspan Victoria Shipyards overseeing large vessel repair and maintenance programs.

Going back many years, I’ve held jobs in different industries to put myself through school, fund those first few cars and set myself up to become a successful professional.  In my earlier years working in tourism, hotels, restaurants, advertising and municipal government provided exposure to a variety of settings and helped to form my drive to thrive.  I first landed at Victoria Shipyards as an accountant, and quickly advanced to supporting roles in new vessel construction where I had the opportunity to learn about contract and program management and of course a little bit about building boats.  I then jumped over to vessel repair and progressively expanded my role to run multi-million-dollar programs.

I’m curious, a problem solver, organized and trusted. In all that I do, my desire is to see the benefit of process, to help ensure efficiency, and I love the feeling of accomplishment!  Beyond my day-to-day work activities, I’ve achieved some epic goals including obtaining the Six-Star Abbott World Marathon Majors (Look it up, it’s a thing!), two Ironmans and founded a community of practice called Women at Seaspan to support, develop and mentor women in industry.
